ABC's Of Youth Ministry

J is for Joy

When I was a young teen at camp, I learned the simple definition of joy

Jesus first
Others second
Yourself last

I've done my best to keep this straight because if I do it backwards I get YOJ and I don't know what that is, but I don't want to find out.

Youth Ministry, on its best days might give you joy but on its worst days it will give you a headache. There is 100% chance that knowing and following Jesus will bring you joy, not always when you want it, but always when you need it.

Keep your joy in order and stay away from YOJ, whatever that is.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
