Q is for Quickly
Youth Ministry is a lot of things, slow is not one of them. This is why a youth pastor must be quick in these three areas
Quick to listen
You may feel like you have a lot to offer, a lot of ideas brewing in you feel must be shared, and I have no doubt that feel they must be shared, but the gold is not in the speaking but the listing. Listening grants insight to when, where and if your idea should be shared. Listen more, talk less, is how you win.
Do not be quick with your mouth - Ecc. 5:2
Quick to make peace
Tensions can run high in ministry and offense the national pastime of the church. It is is in your best interest to quickly resolve any relational issue. Don't drag your feet when you know you should reach out, make a call to apologize or at least to check in with those you think might have beef with you.
Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Matthew 5:25
Quick to Forgive
The wounds add up quickly. Grudges become barriers to effective ministry. I know forgiveness is a process with lots of unpacking but the decision, "I will forgive" must made quickly otherwise bitterness and resentment start to look like better options.
‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Luke 15:22
