Greetings Awesome Person,
Oh the highs and lows of youth ministry.
One week I have their full attention, the next I am talking to myself.
It's easy to judge ourselves, our abilities and even God's call in the low times and it is equally easy to think we have it all together and God is "blessing" our ministry.
I think we should ignore both.
You're never as good as you think you are and you are never as bad as you think you are. You are, normally, somewhere in the middle and trending one way or the other.
What makes it even more difficult to stay balanced is the criticism and praise we hear. If you believe what you hear, mostly from those who have no idea what you really do, you will fall into the either or trap.
Ignore both the praise and the criticism and just do what God has called you to do. These "voices" are not going to help you or hurt you, they're opinions.
God knows you best. Listen to what He says about you and you'll know the truth and it will set you free from need to be validated and will protect you from the un-truths of voices.
Have a great week everyone,
Paul
